You Could Get a Criminal Record if You Losst Your 3G iPhone!

September 26th, 2009

Some people may not realise the potential problems caused by claiming iPhone theft when really they had lost it. Unfortunately, many iPhone insurance policies do not provide full protection in the event that an iPhone is lost, so when a consumer finds themselves in the situation where they have missed placed their iPhone, many take the decision to claim that their iPhone has been stolen, simply so they can make a claim on their iPhone insurance policy.

Making a false claim like this can erupt into a chain of trouble for the unsuspecting consumer, who may think that no one would ever know about their manipulation of the truth. Unfortunately this may not be the case any more, as iPhone insurance providers are now actively trying to seek out customers who they believe may be making a false claim by stating that their iPhone has been stolen.

Bogus insurance claims are becoming increasingly easy for the modern and forward thinking insurance company to detect. By interviewing claimants verbally over the phone during the iPhone insurance claims process, similar patterns of deception have become easily detectable. Fraudulent claims, such as declaring your iPhone stolen, when it was really lost, have reportedly cost the industry over a billion in revenue over the last few years.

Unfortunately, many people seem to be unaware that making a false claim on something as small as the insurance policy for an iPhone is classed as insurance fraud, which if convicted, could land you with a criminal conviction. Now that must be a real wake up call for the average man in the street, a criminal record can have all sorts of negative affects on your future, from job applications to being refused insurance in other areas, such as laptop insurance, automotive and even home insurance products.

Due to an estimated one in ten theft claims for iPhone Insurance being suspected of being fake, think again before you make a false claim. iPhone insurance providers require a Police incident number before they will start to process your 3gs iPhone insurance claim. In order to get a Police incident number you will have to report your iPhone as stolen to the Police and make a statement to that effect, the Police are also actively getting involved with insurance fraud of this nature. So not only could you end up with a criminal conviction for insurance fraud, you could also add wasting police time or even attempting to pervert the course of justice, all because your iPhone insurance cover did not cover you for loss!

There is some simple action you can take to avoid getting involved in this situation and firstly that would be to make sure that when you purchase iPhone Insurance, you select a insurance policy that will cover you in the event of you loosing your iPhone. Secondly, if you find out your iPhone insurance cover did not offer cover for loss, then take the loss on the chin, rather than risk a criminal record for such a small amount of money

Choosing a Photographer for Your Most Important Day

September 26th, 2009

One of the most important choices a couple will make is the selection of their wedding photographer.

There are so many things to decide like the dress, decor, food, music, location, etc. But the choice of a photographer is one of the most important since your pictures are often one of the most lasting and cherished memories from one of life’s major milestones.

We’ve all heard horror stories about studios doing a less than perfect job, or not producing anything at all. By taking the time to do some research you can be assured of selecting a photographer who will not only provide outstanding pictures, but who can make you feel great and remove at least one worry from a day filled with stresses.

If any of your friends have gotten married in recent years . Why not ask them who shot their wedding and look at their wedding pictures to see how the photographer did. You’ll likely discover good references this way, so contact the photographers who did a great job for your friends.

It also pays to check out several photographers. Do an internet search for photographers in your area – here in the capital city of Alberta Canada, you’d want to search for Edmonton Wedding Photographers. You can also do a search for something like Edmonton photography. You’ll get hundreds of results, so concentrate on those shown on the first few pages. By visiting the websites shown, you’ll get a feel for each photographer’s style. Send an email to as many as you like. Their response is a good indication of how professional they are. Are the replies professional and clearly written? Have they provided any other examples or references?

Next, set up interviews with those who create the sytle of photography you want and who are in your budget. When you meet with the photographer, they’ll show you a portfolio of their work. How the photographer treats you during this interview (when they are trying to sell you on their services) is a good example of what you can expect at your wedding. Are they friendly, or are they condescending? Do they seem warm, or are you uncomfortable with how they treat you?

The photographer will have an agreement for you to sign. Take your time to read it, as it outlines what is expected of you and them. The agreement is also for your benefit, too. Even though your are committing to pay them, it also commits the photographer to provide the services you have agreed to.

Here are a few additional ideas that should help your photographer get the best shots for you:

1. Make a list of the most important shots you want and provide it to the photographer before the wedding.

2. Make sure you know WHO is going to photograph your wedding. If the main photographer isn’t going to be the actual photographer at your wedding, find out who will – and be sure to see their personal portfolio before you commit to hiring them.

3. Assign a family member or close friend to be the photographer’s liason who can point out all the important family members who you want to be sure to get pictures of.

4. Ask the photographer to attend the rehearsal so they will know where they can get the best shots without getting in the way.

5. Pre-plan where the formal and informal photographs will be shot.

6. Find out if the photographer provides finished prints, albums, thank-you cards and similar services after the wedding. These can be valuable extras that will enhance your wedding day memories and many photographers have excellent resources for these items that are of higher quality than the public can get.

By following these suggestions you won’t need to worry about your wedding photography. Just enjoy your wedding day knowing you’ll have many wonderful images from your wedding day to enjoy for the rest of your life.
