I could envision where this was going right off. Nathan, my boy, and Liberty, my girl, were both in moms face about crashing with us tonight, and there was only vacancy for one of them. As a matter of teaching, we didn’t like either one of them to sleep with us on a regular schedule, and in this situation, we were attempting to practice what we said.
Nate, who was five now, had eventually got to the spot where he was not running to our room on a weekly basis. Liberty, on the other hand, who was just turning four was having a genuine troubling time not leaping in bed with us every night. Now , don’t get me wrong, I truly adore my little ones, but I had strong convictions about what you teach your children when you let them sleep with you after a specific age and both of them where already beyond that age. And as insignificant as it sounds, we had also just bought a ninety dollar duvet cover set.
Now, hind sight being twenty-twenty, we should have waited a few more years to spend that much money on a discount king duvet cover. However, in my defense, it was Sherry that insisted we “needed” one. Well, what can you do, sometimes you have to choose your battles carefully to win the war. Anyway, back to our timely dilemma. Nathan, come down and listen to me son. Your a big boy now, and your sister needs you to show her you care for her, by letting her sleep with us tonight. Ok. Now tell your sister you love her and lets all go to sleep. It brings tears to my face to see these events, really.
